Sherri Mikles began a career in dental assisting in 1981. She is Co-founder/Director and Registrar of Dental Assisting Technologies. She has had extensive training in all aspects of the dental office. Sherri has gained experience over the years working in 5 well-respected area dental offices and has maintained employment with her current employer of 13 years. She has filled in for many of the area dental offices throughout her 27-year career. She was a certified member of DNAB, has had training with Eaglesoft software, Dentrix software, and digital radiography. A Rock Island, IL dental assisting school employed her for 2 years prior to the opening of Dental Assisting Technologies. She prides herself on making her students educational experience stimulating, challenging, enlightening and fun!
Janean Brown has been a dental assistant since 1989. She became Co-founder/Director and Registrar of Dental Assisting Technologies after relocating to the Quad Cities in 2005. Her career began in Virginia. She has had training in all aspects of dental assisting, working chair side in both general and pediatric dentistry. Her last 10 years as a Virginia resident was as a financial coordinator/office manager. In this position she received extensive training in Pride marketing & management and Dentrix software. She volunteered for the Northern VA area dental clinics & schools and was certified in radiology with the state of VA. Janean thoroughly enjoys her chosen career and still works as a fill in for dental offices in the area. Her personal goal is to give her students an advantage over other applicants by implementing knowledge she has acquired from her many years of training.
Dr. Ronald Riggins, DMD graduated from Moline High School and received his B.A. in biology from the University of Iowa. He received his D.M.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and has completed a residency in general dentistry.
His is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Rock Island District Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Riggins currently serves as secretary of the Rock Island District Dental Society as well as on various committees in both the Rock Island District Dental Society and the Illinois State Dental Society.
He also serves on several boards that support the community. He is currently the president of Moline Public Schools Foundation.
Dr. Riggins practices all aspects of general dentistry at his offices in Moline and Rock Island, IL.
He enjoys skiing, boating, and time with his friends and family.
Julie Wyfells's career in dental assisting began in 1985. She received her certificate degree in Dental Assisting from Black Hawk College in Moline, IL. She assisted in general dentistry until 1993. She then decided to further her education, by attending Illinois Central Comm. College in Peoria and graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene. An opportunity arose for her to teach at Carl Sandberg Colleges Dental Hygiene Program in Galesberg, IL. She taught there for 5 years. Since becoming a dental hygienist, she has worked for several area dentists. Julie has done missionary dental work in Costa Rica and hopes to do more in the future. The love for her profession has kept her involved in the dental field for 23 years.
Tricia Price; After working as a Certified Nurses Aide, she began her career as a Dental Assistant, by enrolling in Excel Training Systems School of Dental Assisting, Rock Island, IL. She graduated first in her class in 2003. She has worked in general dentistry as a chair side assistant ever since. She attended Black Hawk College, Moline, IL. And received a degree in Arts & Science. She will receive her degree in education from Northern Illinois University this spring. Tricia uses her passion for excellence in patient care, education and dental assisting to teach her students.
Dr. Joseph D. Jackson DMD, A Quad City native, Dr. Jackson graduated from United Township High School in East Moline. He then received his Bachelors Degree in Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Jackson received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Southern Illinois University of Dental Medicine. He is an active member in the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society and the Rock Island District Dental Society. Dr. Jackson also volunteers with Christina’s Smile, a free dental clinic for needy children sponsored by the PGA tour. Dr. Jackson practices with Dr. David E. Lemon, DDS in Moline.
